Free Wills Month … Is it really free? October is “Free Wills Month” but do you know how it works?
Free Will month has been operating for several years. Basically you register locally and are assigned a participating solicitor who will draw up a Will for you for free. However, is it really free …?
ℹ️ The charity pays the solicitor a fee for each Will they do …
ℹ️ The charity hopes you will make a donation to them, so they can recoup this fee …
ℹ️ You are under no obligation to donate so this could actually cost the charity money!
ℹ️ The free Will is a simple, standard will only and anything more complex costs more …
ℹ️ The solicitor hopes you will agree to other paid for services e.g. Power of Attorney
Morecambe Bay Wills doesn’t pressure you to purchase additional services and will not add themselves as Executors to your Will to obtain future income from your estate. We also include many services such as Property Protection Trusts and Severance of Tenancy in our low prices for standard Wills. All this in the comfort and convenience of your own home.
Morecambe Bay Wills doesn’t participate in Free Wills month. We do, however, believe in helping charity so we donate part of our profits from all our services directly to Cancer Care North Lancashire. Additionally we donate a part of our LPA fees to them when local families who have been touched by cancer need Lasting Powers of Attorney.
You can, of course, still leave a legacy donation in your Will to any charity of your choice in your Will when you make it.
