We continue to work and provide our valuable services. We can take instructions by telephone, video call, or by use of a simple form with guidance notes. We can offer face to face consultations in exceptional circumstances – taking all the necessary social distancing precautions of course. We can still offer witnessing services too, albeit done in a different way!
If you are self-isolating and don’t have a Lasting Power of Attorney for Property and Financial Affairs in place, it can be difficult for those close to you to help with your financial affairs. LPAs are currently taking 8-12 weeks to register at the Office of the Public Guardian. We can offer a short term alternative – a GENERAL Power of Attorney gives authority to your attorneys for a limited period and doesn’t need registering with the OPG. FREE for over 70s or £25 for others, with all proceeds going to our local Cancer Care charity, these can be with you and valid within 2-3 days
If you have a Will and want us to check its validity and content, send it to use for a free Will assessment.
If you don’t have a Lasting Power of Attorney for Health and Welfare in place and are worried about treatment if you become ill, you can lay out what you want to happen in the event of you needing critical care in an Advance Decision document (also known as a Living Will). Like the General POA above, this doesn’t need registering with the OPG. Again we are offering these FREE for over 70s or £25 for others, with all proceeds going to our local Cancer Care charity, and they can be with you and valid within 2-3 days
